Our Story

Our coed soccer team, Old Castle United, has again come together to host The Fifth Annual Charity Soccer Tournament, Kickin' It, on June 27th and 28th to benefit a friend in need.

This year all proceeds will be given to Katia Rojo and her family.

In 2008, Katia Rojo was born into a loving family. Two months into her life, this beautiful baby girl was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare tumor of the eye. Through the care of some of the world's best doctors and surgeons at Children's hospital in Los Angeles, Katia's tumor is gone, but she will continue to need treatment at Children's hospital until she is 5 years old.

Most of us cannot imagine the financial hardship that Katia's family has endured. From the exorbitant medical bills to the cost of numerous trips between San Diego and Los Angeles coupled with all of the days off work, the expenses have really piled up. Please help us help them.

Serious vision and life threatening eye diseases can be detected before your baby leaves the hospital. Please ask your doctor about the red reflex test.

Your entry fee, t-shirt purchase, and donations will go directly to Katia Rojo and her family to help relieve them of some of their financial burden.

Old Castle United will continue to try to host a soccer tournament every year to help support someone in need. If you would like to volunteer this year or know of someone who may need help for next year's event, email us.

Thank you,
Old Castle United
